Well haven't the last few weeks been exciting? Leading into October, the playoff picture has started to form. The NL West and NL Wild Card are the only two playoff slots still up for grabs.
NL East - Philadelphia Phillies
NL Central - Cincinnati Reds
NL West - Not determined
NL Wild Card - Not determined
AL East - Not Determined (NY Yankees/ TB Rays)
AL Central - Minnesota Twins
AL West - Texas Rangers
AL Wild Card - Not Determined (NY Yankees/TB Rays)
The winner of the AL Wild Card will most likely play the Twins and the Rangers will play the AL East winner.
The NL West is still up for grabs. Three teams, the Giants, Padres and Rockies are still in contention. However, with the Rockies being 5.0 GB, it seems unlikely they will have customers at Coors in October. The loser of the NL West may still win the Wild Card, but will have to defeat the Atlanta Braves, who are in first by 1 game, in order to advance.

I'm sure my predictions will confuse many people. That Rangers over the Yankees? And the Padres won't even make the playoffs? To explain my reasoning will take a while, so I'll leave that for tomorrow's post. It will be a lengthier post so I hope you look forward to it.
